Hi Robin,
a little more about the settling method I mentioned before.
I take the youngsters out way before they can fly and put them out with
droppers.

Hey Neen I got a topic for ya.....
So here is the thing....my settling percentages as you know are mediocre at
best. Yes I know all the different variables that affect the outcome such as
loft position, droppers, flying position settling method, falcons/hawks,
etc, etc. With Tipplers I think there is more at play because of the
endurance factor....fair enough.

Hi Luka,
Without knowing your family of birds intimately, or at all, for that matter,
I'll risk an opinion.

Luka, anyone who have had the opportunity to see the position of you
coop, wonders how it's possible to stay any birds at all. The high hedges on
one side,a tree on the other, not to mentioned the house it self completely
blocking the view as well.
However, as much as the location of the coop(s) is a problem , more of a
problem are birds of pray.

Hi Nino and Mick....if I am reading you emails correctly you guys have the
opposite views. Nino you feel its my position and method while Mick feels
the birds may be lacking a good homing trait and thus a new strain with good
homing ability would be a possible solution.

I was speaking with Rupert about the fly a way this evening and he also
believes the same as you. On the occasions that this happens , there always
seems to some sort of up draft or strong thermals that the birds seem to
fly into. Once that happens it is good bye to them.

Danny,

Sorry to hear about the fly away man, but it has happened to me on a few
occasions, whole kits gone in a flash..

The one thing you must be aware of is there seems to be a time early in
their training of ybs, that they seem to just "come together" It seems to be
when they have been released about 5 to 7 times for training tosses, they
just go like hell for their conditioning a

Attached is the birds in question. I found the photo. They were so young
and innocent here. But soon they took off to be a tremendous group of
kitters, I recall their being extremely attached to one another. Have you
ever seen that trait in rounds? I've noticed it here and there, some rounds
