Hi Robin,
a little more about the settling method I mentioned before.
I take the youngsters out way before they can fly and put them out with
droppers. It serves several purposes - they get accustomed to the outside,
become familiar with droppers - watch them pick grain, fly about and drop,
watch the landing kit that joins the droppers - in other words, they are
taking in at a very early age what will be required of them. Well, before
they can fly it's a piece of cake because I can put out there the whole
round and collect them by hand. I never force them to fly - so they may be
this old before they take off (in the picture).
