This is a norwegian product developed by a norwegian racing pigeon fancier.
It has proved to be very effective, and is used widely by racing pigeon
fanciers around Europe, probably elsewhere too.
I have used this for several years, and it does keep the pigeons healthy. As
far as I can understand its not a medication, and excessive use has not had
any bad effect on my birds.

Hi MJB,
Reading between the lines of the marketing gibberish which by description
seems like a miracle cure all and all of these companies do this type of
marketing, I think it to be just another gut ph balancer that leaves the
bowl in a slightly acidic state with results at best returning the stool to
normal.
If it does that, then one would think the bird's condition was below par
beforehand because if a bird is in good flying condition then some of these
drugs if given unnecessarily will depress condition which indicates the bird

Hi There,

It appears to be a product that is more along the lines of "maintenance",
like dealing with wet canker as it to must be maintained and if I am
correct, I like that rather than the constant use of meds designed to kill
or maintain bacterial infections.

It does refer to killing bacteria off, so I am a bit stumped by that
statement unless of coarse it does contain certain meds

Mick - Firstly are you 100% sure the bird is egg bound? you could try giving
it a calcium tablet and a cod liver tablet. Also if you can feel the egg,
sometimes steaming the birds rump end works, but you need to make sure your
not holding the bird over a boiling kettle kind of steam, i.e. the kind of
steam that won't burn your hand.

Thanks Dave, You're spot on, I don't have a particularly big flight, so the
chances of carrying internal fat is quite high but still, it's quite unusual
for this particular hen, she's maybe ten years old, has always been a very,
very well conditioned and very fertile hen, has never ever lost body
condition during any breeding season. I do feed the best available
commercial depuritive during off breeding season, bringing it down to 50/50
straight barley and hard durrum wheat to trim condition further, which is

Great day today for cleaning out the deep litter, sun shining on the loft
ideal cleaning day..I know, some lads who have had the same deep litter down
for a few years now. They just clean the messy stuff from under the perches,
and rake the litter around.

When they do take out the deep litter, some use Jeyes fluid to clean the
loft out before a new covering off deep litter. I know hemp core is quite
popular with a lot or Racing Guys for deep litter, Hemp core is what the
horsey people use for the stable floors.

Canker? There are a couple of different strains of it - various genetic
ones, including both the dry and wet forms. I've yet to see any pigeon
breed that isn't susceptible to at least one form of canker, though I have
seen families of birds that were less likely to affected by a particular
strain or strains. I have zero doubt that this is a genetic affect.
