Silvio Mattacchione on MtDNA

Dear Dave : I am glad to hear that you read the article on MtDNA.I did in
fact build my line of racing pigeons based on one pair. I focused on
perpetuating a hen line. Kemo has done the same thing and a few days ago I
took the time to speak to Mr. Tommy Dilks and he also followed this same
path. So long as the line is built around the appropriate hen then I am
confident you will have success. I have , for years, personally believed
that the longevity of any loft is based upon the quality of the hens.

Regards
Silvio

Hi Dave,
And yes indeed, thanks for the interesting information on the salts.

And Hi Mr Mattacchione,
We talked about pigeons (in one of your articles) on the phone, I'm sure you
don't remember me; but welcome to the FT website and yes, I recall having
several conversations with Kemo about magnesium's benefits... :-)
I'm working on a line of my Tipplers based on what I think is my best hen
because of your mitochondrial DNA articles. Thanks.

Yours in the sport,
Dave

Dear Dave : Thanks, indeed this is of interest. I was having this very
discussion with Dr. Iwona Wawer the head of physical chemistry( and the head
of pharmacology) at the Medical University of Warsaw in June 2010.The old
timers were on to something important whether they knew it or not. The
importance is not as a laxative but rather in understanding the importance
of Magnesium-chloride as an essential element important to overall heath (
and critically important to the proper functioning of the heart). I think
that Kemo Basic in Canada could provide important input here. I have also
forwarded this link to Dr. Wawer in Poland for her input.
Regards
Silvio
