Here is an advertisement in the AMERICAN PIGEON JOURNAL, 1971 that also
refers to the birds as English Tipplers contrary to the belief the term was
coined here on FT or by the Canadians.
In addition, there are a couple of articles titled the same.....FYI.

apparently some twenty years ago there used to be more then thousand tippler
flyers in /around Bristol area, certainly not all of them in organized
flying, but nevertheless enjoying their birds in the air performing ,as it
should be. However now thanks to the bloody falcon, I believe there are only
three NTU members from Bristol...sad in did.

My pal Cyril had birds direct from Jack Boden in the70s and he had one bird
would tail ride when he put the droppers out, the birds all flow over 18
hours and were good reliable birds, He had the strain a lot off years but he
never bred another one, That tail rides, I know the Welsh boys had Cumulet
blood in the birds and was a perfect cross it give them quality feathering
and height, Who k

I knew John Cullen well he flew his tips in Bristol and was a good friend
of JOS He was NTU sectary in the 70s up till 80s I think Brian Rose took
over from him, and was a good one, his other good friends was MR TIPPLER,
Les CURRY and Aurther Newton from Thurmaston Leicester.
