Is it the gene makeup of a bird to fly long hrs, or does training and proper
management have more to do with ones success? I believe the bird first must
be genitally infused for endurance flight, but that proper training and
management is the bigger key! The reason I say this is there are many who
have acquired birds from some of the heavyweights such as Shannon, Hughes
etc but cannot achieve the same results as the original breeders! Of course
weather, amount of daylight and flying environment, I would think may help
answer why those who have acquired such birds cannot achieve the same
results particularly if flying in a different country not conducive to the
same flying environment as the original breeder! I have had my own bouts of
frustration and hair pulling moments with my own birds! But with a little
patience and a lot of help from others I can only hope to progress as I
learn the art of training and management of these little buggers!
