Hi all, i am happy we are waking up and finally deciding to take some
action. This is the first positive move.

Frank you are right about the public opinion about pigeons, but that is in
my view the fault of the fanciers who have always done this sport without
any publicity. most of the people haven't even heard about this sport. I was
talking to a MP of Hamburg about our problem, he was so surprised to know
that there are so many Pigeon clubs and fanciers around the world, he only
knew the street pigeons.

In order to change public opinion we must start to publicize this sport.
Make it known to the media and let everybody know about the abilities and
intelligence of this bird. Some of my neighbors are so surprised to hear
that my birds fly and come back to their loft again by themselves even more
when they hear that they can fly for hours and night flying or home racing
who are able to fly from Barcelona to Hamburg within two days. I think if
the authorities get enough information on our sport and about the number of
fanciers, only then they can start thinking about the depth of this problem
and our losses to take action.
So I think the first step should be to publicize the ITF and also each club
in different countries to try to make this sport recognized by the
authorities and try to have an international body with uniform rules and
strong management. Together we can even make this sport inter the Olympics.
Only then our pigeons will be valued and the government have to compensate
us for our losses.

I beg everybody not to be so pessimistic, this is not as impossible as some
think, we just need to unite and start action, the positive results will
come by itself because all we want is very logical and we and our birds are
the most harmless things in the world. That is why no one has heard us till
now. Any bird I have seen hunted by the BOPs have been making loud sound and
show some sort of resistance to attracts others attention but our pour
pigeons are so quiet and helpless when they are caught that no one notices,
so we have to become loud for them, if they can't cry, otherwise we are as
cruel as the birds of prey so we don't deserve to even own them if we can't
help them.

Dear Frank let us start from this moment and not tomorrow, even if with a
slow paste but let's take action. I beg every one again to think this matter
over and let us have our suggestions sent to this forum. Then put them
together to formulate a convincing argument to be able to propose it to
different pigeon clubs around the world. We need to get as many fanciers as
possible to sign up to a legislation which is supported by all the clubs and
then we could start a legal action if the authorities don't react. We need
to get the attention of the media. I am sure they would be publicizing this
sport and the dangers approaching it if they would be informed.
