thank you for your offer to help in the good cause. I hope that tomorrow I
will have the time to draw up some specific ideas on the hawk subject that
might be considered by this forum - all feedback is welcome and, of course,
will be considered by all of us.

I would not like to get into deep-thought discussions of the pre-ITF type.
Let's limit our thoughts to the real problems (= the hawk menace,
indifference, not enough support from the top the notch organizations/people
in the pigeon sport) and let's also focus on the solution. The solution is
simple - to establish a balance between the predators and the pray. Without
this, there can be no sustainable development that is so much being talked
about nowadays. I think the best solution is a dialogue based on the "live
and learn" approach. This has just been documented by the wolf issue in
Scandinavia. Couple years ago, Norway started maintaining the wolf packs in
check by shooting the excessive wolfs. Sweden then strictly objected to the
Norwegian approach. Well, this year, Sweden issued couple dozens of "wolf
permits" too - I guess they "lived and learned"... :-) Or was it the money
that the Swedish government had to pay? To the sheep herd owners? To the
wild deer owners/managers? I do not know, I do not have this important
information from the EU information sources - does any one? - or do they
just play a "dark theater" with us? Some can and some cannot?

However, I know for sure that if I am the owner of a dog here, I do register
my dog with the town hall and I pay for the dog tag (under the penalty of
by-law) and I pay for all possible damage that my dog may cause (again under
the penalty of by-law). I clean my dog's excrements from the sidewalks,
gentlemen. (again under the penalty of by-law). And of course, I want to
protect my dog by-law permits me to do so - so far it does... I do all these
thing because I love my dog. Can the hawk lovers do the same and be a man or
just hide behind "certain" stipulations that are clearly against any
reasoning? Or do they just "protect" without any other responsibilities? Are
they above us? What constitution dictates that? How can you protect if you
do not own? And how may you not protect if you do own? Isn't this against
any law in any country? Well, it is certainly against any common sense.
Unfortunately, many people and laws (God bless ten commandments - we do not
need any more laws) do not have any common sense. The green veggies
protecting flesh eaters lack any common sense quite a bit and we (the silent
majority) have to obey them? No way, gentleman ...

As far as I understand, we are in unisono that there is a problem that must
be dealt with. How to deal with it is a question of different continents,
legislation, the strength of hawk protection groups/population, etc...
