Yes he did mention the English Tippler a couple of times in the first
episode, interestingly he held this in high esteem considering his loft was
full of other breeds of fancy/flying birds.
From a pigeon fanciers point of view, the program makers are skipping a view
important elements of homers. For example, Tyson had a small loft built for
him on top of the tall building, it was overcrowded with homers and they did
not look in very good condition. They also reported that the homers he was
gifted from top fanciers in New York where prisoned inside his loft for two
weeks, then basketed and driven 5 miles away and released to fly back. Well!
we all know that the birds would never have flown back without being homed
to loft in the first place?.But by magic these birds appeared.
Nevertheless its a good story, and shows Tyson as a gentle character, unlike
the vicious fighter that we all remember him by.
