A template for high flying

Mark out a few dots on a bit of paper of 1mm diameter. Hold this at arms length overhead. Are your pigeons flying to look like this on any exercises? If they do not then you do not have high flyers.

They may very well exceed this altitude sometimes. The best of Tipplers are often much lower flyers. There are no special points for style and altitude. All that matters is time on the wing if, adequate surveillance can be carried out on such low flyers that can also range out of sight for up to 1 hour.

It takes a man of great expertise to be able to "read" a kit of Tipplers and asses whether or not it is actually doing the time. Tipplers are notoriously liable to drop out of sight of their loft albeit, if only briefly. In this case I suggest that an extremely mobile and wide ranging surveillance is essential. For my money this never happens.

Educated guess work is the best that is available, but who is doing the guessing? That is the $64 question!
